HAI BO XU (雨青) is a China-born, Canada-based illustrator, graphic designer, and painter. He grew up in Guangdong, China, and immigrated to Canada at 18. He graduated from Alberta University of the Arts with a major in Illustration.
His work blends Chinese freehand ink painting with Western abstract expressionism, combining traditional and digital media. He creates illustrations for children’s books, picture books, book covers, magazines, product packaging, and advertising projects, with a strong focus on cross-cultural visual storytelling.
